Clean Energy Day II: March 19th, 2009

Stand with hundreds of fellow Kansans to ask for a clean vote on clean energy.

Prior to noon: Arrive at Topeka Ice Parking Lot, located immediately South of the Santa Fe Apartment Building at 7th and Madison.  It will be marked as “Permit Parking Only,” but we have approval to use the lot.

Noon: Rally on the Southwest corner of the Capitol at 10th Street and Harrison.  There will be buses available to shuttle participants to the rally site from the parking lot.

1pm: Meeting with your legislator.  Please know who your state representative is.  To locate this information, please visit: http://www.ipsr.ku.edu/ksdata/vote/.

This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for!!! Time to stand up and let em know we’re here and we aren’t backing down!

  2. Cathy Lucas says:

We live in Western Kansas and oppose the proposed coal plants. Our water
table is dropping at an alarming rate. We farm and need our limited water
supply for farming and human consumption. Healthy crop production requires
healthy air and soil. We don’t want to use our natural resources to pro-
duce electricity for Colorado and Texas. These proposed plants jeopardize
our livelihood and environment. Please help protect Kansas and its future generations. Kansas has been good to us and it’s our turn to be good to Kansas. Protect our fine state and let the Kansas legislature know we need
    clean energy.
