A message from GPACE director Scott Allegrucci

Here we go again. Two bills are moving quickly through the Kansas Legislature – they are a repeat of last years’ coal plant bills that hijacked the entire session. Both bills will force two big coal plants on Kansas for out-of-state customers, and both cripple the ability of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to protect our air. Neither bill effectively develops the vast renewable energy and economic resources of Kansas. All so a single company can purchase coal from Wyoming to make electricity for Colorado and Texas. Kansas will fall further behind states all around us that are already getting jobs, revenue, and investment from renewable energy.

The WAV file is a nice touch, but you might consider adding a widget that allows folks to look up their representative, or at least a link to http://www.ipsr.ku.edu/ksdata/vote/ where folks can do it themselves.
